Molescroft Rangers 1
Hodgsons F.C. 5 (B Wallis 2, P Silvester, S Fleming (Pen), V Fleming)
Another three points and this time against local rivals Molescroft. In all honesty the away side deserved the win and there were no complaints from the home side.
Man of the match Antony Steer terrorised and tormented the defense on the left wing leaving players in a daze.
The scoring began early with Paul Silvester tapping home from close range, Silvester is currently playing out of position in centre half but continues to produce excellent performances along side skipper Daniel Piwinski.
Stuart Fleming increased the lead 10 minutes later with a penalty, which he dispatched clinically.
Although Molescroft pulled a goal back, Hodgsons stepped up another gear and with midfielders Chris Heath and John Helyard pulling the strings in the middle of the park this gave striker Ben Wallis the opportunity to bag two goals to give him seven for the season.
However the goal of the game came from the right foot of Vinnie Fleming who fired a powerful shot straight into the top corner of the net. This gave the home supporters something to talk about in the pub afterwards.
The score at half time was 5 –1 and the second half produced no further goals. After being promoted two divisions to produce three wins out of three is a great start. Lets hope this run of good form can continue against Plexus Networking at Flemingate this Saturday 29th October.
