135 for 8 CC 1st XI 114 all out

The 1st XI were asked, once again, to chase a low total but this week they were unable to reach their target losing valuable points and momentum in their bid to get away from near the foot of the Premier League.

(3-38) and Steve Blake (3-21) were the main wicket takers as the home side were restricted to 135 for 8 from their 50 overs on a surface that offered the bowlers some assistance.

Another poor batting performance saw several Beverley players get a start but none go on to produce a significant innings. Among those who made some progress were (16), Jon Fisher (23) and Jon Vodden (24). Captain was left stranded on 16 as his side was bowled out for a paltry 114. Town now looks forward to an important weekend where, on Bank Holiday Monday, they face Stamford Bridge, who lie just one place above them in the Premier league.
