I am currently chairman of the John smiths dominoe league in York, we play Monday evenings and have at the moment twelve teams in membership. due to their age both the Secretary and the Treasurer are resigning at the end of this season (April) I wonder if you could help me with the mechanics of actually running a league or point me in the right direction either in person or via the internet. I need to know what I would be expecting a person to take on with regard to the secretary post. As you will know everyone wants to take part in the playing but not take part in the administration. It definitely was an exciting Ironman in Lanzarote this year, the wind dropped for the bike course and the temperatures reached 30 degrees for the run. It’s not called “The World’s Toughest Ironman” for nothing!

For those that consider the Ironman distances too much, what about a half distance event? Kenneth Gasque who is the race director for Ironman Lanzarote is hosting a new triathlon on the 5th September 2010 called Ocean Lava. The swim and run courses are from Playa Grande in Puerto del Carmen but the bike takes in the beautiful areas of Femés, El Golfo, La Geria and Timanfaya.
